This listing is for 2 pounds 10 ounces of a beautiful washed mohair fleece from our faded brown goat, Ms. Bennet. These locks are soft and lustrous! Locks average approximately 4 inches long and are a lovely light brown color! This would make gorgeous yarn or stunning natural doll hair!

This fleece was professionally sheared and skirted. It has been picked through by hand to try to remove foreign matter and debris picked up in the field. Great care has been taken to remove all soiled, matted, and short portions of the fleece. It is virtually free of vegetative matter; a very clean fleece! It was washed several times in hot water with a plant-based soap and locks were rinsed clean and air dried. It is stored in a smoke- and pet-free environment. It is ready for you to dye, pick, card, or felt! It would also be perfect for doll hair, wigs, and reroots! Please note that the mohair is washed, but has not been processed, picked, brushed, conditioned or combed. It is clean and ready for whatever process your craft requires.

Mohair from Phoenix Farm is hand sheared twice per year from holistic pasture-raised animals -- it is 100% natural! We raise our sheep and goats without the use of hormones or unnecessary antibiotics and they graze on lush grass and forest grown without the use of pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizer. Our herd of colored angora goats range in color from white to cream to taupe to silver, with black, brown and red animals as well. They are lovingly raised and their fiber humanely sheared.

*Please keep in mind that these animals are pasture raised and are not coated. I do heavily skirt each fleece to remove second cuts, debris, and soiled fiber. However, some minor amounts of small VM may make it through. I leave the locks as intact as possible, so please expect some tiny bits of VM to fall out when the curls are opened, fluffed, picked, or combed.
