This listing is for 4 ounces of beautiful washed mohair locks from our angora goat, Hops. These locks are long, soft, and lustrous! Locks average approximately 4 inches long and are gorgeous natural black. These locks would make lovely yarn or stunning natural doll hair!

This fleece has been picked through by hand to try to remove foreign matter and debris picked up in the field. It is very clean with little to no VM, and no stains, tags, or mats. It was washed several times in hot water with a mild detergent and locks were rinsed clean and air dried. It is stored in a smoke- and pet-free environment. It is ready for you to dye, pick, card, or felt! It would also be perfect for doll hair, wigs, and reroots! Please note that the mohair is washed, but has not been processed, picked, brushed, conditioned or combed. It is clean and ready for whatever process your craft requires.

Happy spinning!

Mohair from our farm is hand sheared twice per year from holistic pasture-raised animals -- it is 100% natural! We raise our sheep and goats without the use of hormones or unnecessary antibiotics and they graze on lush grass and forest grown without the use of pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizer. Our herd of colored angora goats range in color from cream to taupe to silver, with black, brown and red animals as well. They are lovingly raised and their fiber humanely sheared.

*Please keep in mind that these animals are pasture raised and are not coated. I do heavily skirt each fleece to remove second cuts, debris, and soiled fiber. However, some minor amounts of small VM may make it through. I make every attempt to keep locks intact during the washing process, so as they are opened, picked, or combed, some VM trapped within the curl may fall out.
